Why Get Our Parasitic Drain Tester?

✅Efficient: Improper connections can damage your multimeter or your car’s electrical system. The Parasitic Drain Tester simplifies connecting a multimeter, helping you easily find hidden battery drains. It lets you measure the voltage at different points in the vehicle during the test with standard test leads.

✅Non-damaging: Replaceable in-line fuses protect both the tester and multimeter if a high current source is accidentally left on. A switch bypasses the multimeter during connection to prevent damage from power surges.

✅Convenient: Stacking banana connectors on the tester provides a convenient way to connect multiple devices or leads at once. You can keep the tester and multimeter connected until other computer systems shut down, helping isolate the drain.

📓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How is using this tester preferable to hooking up your multimeter in series with alligator clips and a blade fuse soldered in line with your leads?

A: It helps because it has inline fuses which will protect your voltage meter. When using your meter directly you risk damaging your meter.

Q: My multimeter only has a 10 amp connection. will that work with this or do I need a multimeter that measures milliamps?

A: It is meter leads with fuses inline. If you overload during a parasitic draw test the lead fuse or fuse will blow instead of your meter fuse.

Q: The problem I have now is that the multimeter cannot bridge the connection properly does this allow for a good connection?

A: If your multi-meter uses the same type of push-in connectors, this should provide a good connection. A customer has an old analog meter unit and had to adapt alligator clips to this for it to work.

Great tool to have in the box

I had a parasitic battery draw that would drain the battery over night.
The problem was difficult to figure out, but this little gem was just the ticket.
It allowed me to pin point the issue.

Parasitic tester

Yet another tool I was on the fence about buying. Yes, you can get by without this tool. But it makes yet another car issue easier to deal with.

Must have for parasitic draw on newer vehicles

This tester does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The switch is not wired wrong. When the switch is flipped on the power goes threw just the clamp wires and not the DMM tester. Which is a must have for me because my BMW takes a while to go into sleep mode. Before sleep mode my car draw enough amps to blow my DMM tester fuse. Once my car is into sleep mode I can flip the switch into the off position which lets the current flow there my DMM tester to read the A or mA. As long as I switch it back to the On position I can even remove my DMM tester to check fuses without waking the car up.
