Easy to calibrate, understand, and use. For the price I think it is extremely valuable to anyone in the detail world, as paint repair will cost far more than this tool down the road.
I was pleasantly pleased with how easy it was to calibrate and use on both metals. I would 100% recommend this to everyone.
Only way to know how much paint is left on the vehicle. So much variability on factory jobs and with manufacturers using either soft, medium or hard paints you’ve got to know how far you can polish it before you go thru the clear coat or color coat. Won’t measure coat on non-metal (steel or aluminum) i.e plastic, fiberglass, etc so you’re on your own there. Can definitely tell where there is a repaint job as it’s usually double the thickness which may or may not be a good thing.
This tool is essential if you're buying cars on a regular basis. Instantly locate bondo or any kind of repaint.
