This Transformer is great! Quality product and I love the functions it offers. There's the ability to manually turn it on any time day or night, otherwise it operates with the light detecting sensor to turn on once it reaches a moderate darkness outside. Auto will keep it on from dusk to dawn, otherwise you can select one of the predetermined times in which it will still come on from the sensor setting at dusk, but will turn off 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours after it comes on. Great for not having lighting on all night esp if lighting is by bedroom windows. Directions made those features a bit hard to fully understand, so I hope this review might make its functions a bit more clear! Great product, will buy again!
This transformer is simple to connect, easy to hang, simple to operate, has easy to select time periods of operation, and packs enough power to run eight, five watt LED lights. I purchased a second one because I like it so much. I can’t comment on durability because I’ve only had it two weeks. So far, so good.
I use 2 of these and they work very well. One is at a cottage in Northern Michigan and despite sitting in the cold snowy winters every year, works without fail every summer. The other at my house is used year round and hasn't failed.
These exceeded my expectations, so much so that I bought two more. I've always enjoyed landscape lighting, but my previous photocell/timer transformers weren’t cutting it. I realized my old ones had only a 40W capacity, which I was nearing, even with LEDs. That's when I started looking for a 60W programmable transformer and found these. The idea of setting up the controls on my phone sounded great, so I decided to give it a try.
The transformer features an "On Button" and a sensor. The app allows you to link to the powered-up transformer, name it, and set up commands based on the day of the week, time, and astronomical parameters, including sunset and sunrise based on location. Once connected to a local WiFi network, you can program the transformer remotely and even check if the power is out online. The app also allows you to create "scenes" and integrates with Alexa and Google.
My setup turns on at sunset and off at 11:00 pm, and I’ve set up a morning schedule to turn on at 6:00 am and off at sunrise. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.
I'm using several of these for various landscape lights around our house, and I'm really pleased with them. I love that you can set it to "ON" all the time, then use a smart controller to plug it in, and it remembers its last setting even after a power loss. This way, our outdoor smart plug can turn them on at 5 PM and off at 1 AM, for example. The light sensor still works even with the "ON" setting selected, which is perfect since there’s no need to have the lights on while it’s still light out. It’s been a great addition to our setup!
