Great bore gauge. I used this when I rebuilt my 2010 Audi A4 engine (oil consumption problem) I check my work with my guy who machined the cylinders and was exactly the same readings on his more expensive bore gauges. I would recommend.

Works as well as my much more expensive bore gages.

This works as good as any of the several high dollar bore gages I have used over the last 25 years. It is a little harder to adjust than the models I use with their own dedicated setting micrometer bases, but once set, the dial is smooth, it is easy to read, and stays set. For now I leave this at 4.030" and use my other gages for different sizes. Very happy with this bore gage.

Comes in handy measuring cylinder bores and well as main and rod bearing clearances. Need to use it with an outside micrometer to be useful. The outside micrometer should be accurate to .0001 which you zero your dial bore too. Then measure the difference. Even though the gauge is in .0005 increments, you can if its a hair over or under .0005 or in between and estimate close to the .0001th.

Worked perfectly for measuring the bores on my 911. If its not obvious to you, know that you will need a micrometer or other means of zeroing the gauge. I'm not an expert on precision tools but I believe that unless you only car about measuring ovality or other comparative measurements, this tool can not be used to obtain absolute measurements without a caliper.

Accurate and precise

This works. I was able to get accurate measurements multiple times. I had some troubles and asked a local machinist to check the part for me because I was off 0.0015" from what I expected. The machinist confirmed, my part was 0.0015" from what I expected. Very happy with this bore gauge.
