      It works!

Just put a piece of wood, about 3 to 4 inches shorter than the total width of your stairs, between the blades, hold it in place and tighten the screws. I wrote top, right and left on the wood to help line it up on the piece to be cut. Move the blades against the wall or skirt board and tighten screws. Transfer the template to the riser or tread, draw lines and cut. Simple and foolproof.

      Great Metal Stair Tread Tool!

This stair tool is all metal and does what it's designed to do. I used to to help get a more accurate measurement to help get a closer fit and, to help with the one wall that was bowed out. Great tool!

More Accurate Than A Tape Measure

The stair tread template was very easy to use and was very accurate especially when stairs weren’t exactly square. It was much easier and more accurate than using a tape measure.
