Q: Can it cut flutes at a 45-degree angle?
A: Yes you could, make a guide that would slide up and down the pilaster with the guide edge at 45 degrees. Run the route hand-held along the face. Mark the flute incrementally along one side of the pilaster. Clamp the guide each time you flute.
Q: Is there any way to extend the width of the slides to work on a wider than 8" piece?
A: None
🌟HOW TO USE
1. Attach your router.
2. Mark for your flutes on the yellow pad.
3. "Zero out" the metal scale with your first mark.
4. Lock down the acrylic base.
5. Plough out the flute.
6. Slide the base to your next mark, lock it down, plow another flute.. and so on until your piece is done!

I love this jig!!! I got it for 40 bucks, drilled for my skills plunge router and it does precisely as described. I bought the extended bit set and am blown away at the time I save with such a great invention.. I also have the trim router mini table and it is just as awesome!!!
Easy to use in concert with my Bosch Plunge Router. Very precise and easily repeatable.
Instead of spending a couple of hundred per fluted column, I spent a couple of hundred on MDF and this jig and made my own. Fit my Bosh router perfectly and was easy to set up. Making these attractive columns a breeze.
This jig is pretty good. It worked well for me. I took my time to get my bit as centered as I could and my flutes turned out pretty good so all is well. I am glad I bought this product and I will use it again.
As a novice woodworker, I wanted to attempt my first real flutes on a maple bedstand project. The flutes were to be 3 1/2" flutes evenly distributed on a 3" by 24" maple board (3/4" thick) with 22.5' mitered edges on the long axis. After spending several hours trying to make a jig out of spare wood, I gave up and decided to just order this great jig. After quickly making a new board and setting the depth to my liking, it worked like a champ. Highly recommended if you want to make nice looking flutes!
