Why do you need golf head cover?

There's been a few parleys (debate, parley, argument, dispute) among golfers about golf cover - does golf covers help or even matter?

To some golfers, iron covers can be unnecessary while others still treat the cold metal club like their child that needed warmth and protection.

So personal preferences aside, why do think your golf head needs to cover?

What is the purpose of iron covers?

Iron covers have two main purposes; firstly, to act as a barrier between your iron heads

to prevent them from causing damage to one another, and secondly to stop them colliding together loudly during your rounds.

Iron covers are made of rubber, synthetic leather, or even cotton materials, they do an excellent job of keeping your iron clubs safe and secure.

Iron covers can add a little bit of personality

Trust me on this, Iron covers can really add personality and character to your golf bag!

Some golfers treat their iron clubs like their own children that even the famous Tiger Woods uses a tiger head cover named "Frank" to protect his driver. Fun fact Frank got even featured in a series of commercials.

While personally, I like my driver's headcover monotone and simple color particularly brown or black.

PRO tips for your golf clubs:

  • Store Your Golf Clubs Properly
  • High heat can weaken the glues that hold the grip and clubhead in place. Never store them in your car's trunk for a long time. The best way is to store them indoors.
  • Keep It Dry
  • Say no to rust! If you come in after a wet day on the course, just give your clubs a quick wipe-down before tossing them back in the closet or corner.
  • Keep It Clean
  • Clean those clubheads between play. Make sure to remove dirt & debris from the grooves & etchings on the clubheads. It only requires a soft-bristled brush and some warm water with suds.

Does golf club cover really necessary?

Hmmm.. Actually, headcovers are not essential items in your golf bag. Surprised?

But yeah there's a big BUT in here. They do work extremely well to protect your clubs

whether it's wood, iron, wedges, or putters they really do protect them well from damages.

CONCLUSION

Others might frown on this but golf iron covers are necessarily essential. Let me repeat they are ESSENTIAL!

Well for me it's actually peer pressure LOL. But the longer I used the covers the more I realized that it's really necessary for the long term. Especially from scratches, dents, and rust prevention that could affect the angle, power, and overall accuracy of your shots. This is why having a golf iron cover is a must-have accessory.

Aside from this, golf iron covers give your golf clubs longer life which saves you more money.

I get it that dings and scratches are common in our hobby. But golf clubs need some love and protection too especially your most prized and expensive ones.
